Electrical Courses For Fire Investigators
GATR Electrical Course Modules
Regional Training Options
Since the end of the restrictive era of Covid Lockdowns, GATR has been working in collaboration with several strategic private-sector organisations and are currently in the process of redesigning a number of blended training options aligned to ISO 17020, designed for professionals who undertake ‘Tier Two; scene investigations.
Electricity & Fire Modules
To date we have designed the following options:
Module 1: Introduction to electricity and fire
Module 2: Electrical causes of fire and their investigation
Module 3: Small electrical appliances
Module 4: Larger appliances and electrical installations
NB. In the past 6 months we have delivered Module 1 + 2 regional events to groups of practitioners who undertake Tier Two scene investigations.
Client Feedback:
“A great balance of theory and practical – hands on exploring electrical circuits & components and examining fire damaged electrical items. Delivered by knowledgeable and credible trainers, pitched at the required level and focused on electrical cause/effect and post-fire indicators of incendive electrical activity. Plenty of good challenge and opportunity for discussion.”
During our Sept/Oct 2023 series of training events, we will be piloting a new two-part event. Part one will be delivered over one day by two instructors at the client’s regional venue will combine Modules 1 + 2.
Part two will be delivered to groups of 12, over two-days at the GATR bespoke, ‘Phoenix Heights’ training & research facility where attendees have the unique opportunity to observe small and larger, electrically energised appliances in situ within our fire damaged compartments, plus examine and compare them with a range of undamaged appliances.
The part two events are scheduled to start about noon on day one and end about mid-afternoon on day two. Our fee includes all course meals and refreshments and one night’s B&B accommodation for a group of 12 delegates.
