The residential 5-day practical course (44.5 CPD hours) is designed for Fire and Rescue, Police Service and other professionals who undertake or are about to undertake ‘Tier Two’ scene investigations. The success of a fire scene investigation requires a competent investigator who has demonstrated the t raining, skills, knowledge and experience required. This 5-day practica l course is the foundation of a structured development process and provides the initial learning through effective training for an investigator to continue their development process to undertake fire scene investigations at Tier 2.
The course consists of theoretical and practical elements covering the four National Occupational Standards. It is designed around Interactive classroom and workshop activities along with practical exercises in real fire scenes. Prior to the course, all students undertake our level 2 online theory course, Introduction to Fire investigation as a pre course assignment (minimum of 8hrs, included in course cost). The course is recognised by UK-AFI and the IFE.
This is a residential course delivered at the GATR Practical Training facility (Phoenix Heights) and Travel Lodge, Haverhill. The course costs includes hotel accommodation at the Travelodge, Haverhill, all meals and refreshments during the course.
